The Haps
For hungry Happy Hour goers in Brookland, this is your spot. With a solid food offering, you'll be sure to leave with your belly full. Only beer and wine are on Happy Hour, but the soft booze pair well with the tasty bar bites.
Happy Hour Specials:
Drinks: Select draft beers: $4-$5.50 | Can beers: $3 | Select Red and White Wine: $5
Food: Select small plates (Doro Wat Wings, Tempura Kale, Half Smoke): $4-$10 (regularly $6-$12)
Recommendations:
Kale is life, and Tempura Kale is like life on a puffy cloud. We recommend popping a few bites of these and grabbing an order of the Duck Croquettes to go along with them. If you’re feeling sandwichy, we say go with the BLT, cause house-made bacon is an obvious win. The Happy Hour drink offerings are pretty limited, but vast enough to meet most vino and brew needs. Go with whatever floats your fancy here.
Our Overall Rating: 3.8/5
Steel Plate’s Happy Hour food menu takes you on a quick tour of DC, with a Half Smoke and Doro Wat Wings, paying homage to a DC classic and the District’s booming Ethiopian population. We enjoy the casual ambience and that it’s usually not too crowded here. The servers are super helpful and more than willing to dish on their recommendations. While only beer and wine is offered on the Happy Hour menu, we were satisfied that the round up was pretty solid.
